Explore the Wonder

My love of horses started many years ago like most little girls. I was not born on a ranch or anything like that. It just came from a horse ride here and there.

But as an youngish adult, I started taking riding lesson at Golden Gate Stables. And my ambitions started to grow.

So, I bought my first and only horse Beau. I had Beau for over 25 years and besides being my best friend, he was my life savior. And I mean that.

Then when I moved to Colorado 3 years ago from San Francisco, because of family reasons, I brought him with me and my life changed.

My Love of Horses

Reinventing My Self

As I mentioned, when I moved to Colorado I moved with my best friend Beau. But when I brought him, I was aware that he was old for a horse and was coming to the end of his life. I never knew his actual age, but I put him at 30 – 32.  And maybe it could be said in that bringing him I might have shortened his life, knowing that he had never been in the cold or snow or a heat, such as Colorado’s.

However, I had to bring him because I know that without my companionship and care, he probably would not have survived anyhow. His last year was full of love, comfort and care, as was his whole life.

When Beau passed, I had a huge emptiness in my life. After a few months of grieving, I started to volunteer. at a Miracle Therapeutic Riding Cent as volunteer. Within the year I became one of the programs instructors where I along with the program, provide a safe, quality program that serves special needs persons of all ages, disabilities and conditions, as they learned caring and riding horse.

Currently,  I am  in the process of creating an after-school program for children at Carlisle Equestrian Center.

These are just a few of my students from the Theaputic Riding Center.
